I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, but I never thought I would be a doctor of dental surgery. The seed of dentistry wasn’t planted until after college when I returned to San Francisco and started working for a grant project to increase access to oral health care for persons with developmental disabilities through the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Three years later, the associate dean of the dental school finally convinced me that I was destined to be a dentist. During dental school I was humbled when the student body and faculty awarded me “Most Compassionate Student Award” in 2005. My role as a dental educator and advocate for disabled persons prior to dental school has fueled my passion for helping others and continued during and after my doctorate.
My enthusiasm for dentistry stems from helping my patients learn about the connection between their mouth and body. Teeth, gums, TMJ, and your airway can all have a direct impact on your overall health; and, when healthy, can significantly reduce the risk of serious disease. My primary goal with every patient is to make them comfortable in our office and educate them about their oral health.
